I found this short tutorial in a Midwest Living magazine and thought it was rather interesting and worth repeating.
See how decorating expert Pheobe Howard applies her foolproof 4-step formula to a coffee table.
The Formula: Using these elements, you can apply Phoebe’s chic and simple method to any space or tabletop.
1. Something Tall
Hurricane vases or candlesticks are great because when you light candles, they add sparkle and make everything festive.
2. One Oddball Object
Choose something that’s sculptural and quirky to express your personality. Some ideas: a piece of coral, a glass orb, or a small ginger jar.
3. Something Fresh
A nice pot of ivy, a fern, or some fresh-cut flowers add life and easy-to-change color to the room.
4. A Stack of Books
Use a few large, pretty art books to make a stack, and top it off with something decorative.
Vintage [vin'tij]n. Things that were from another time or era. Junket [jung'kit]n. A pleasure trip.

Spring anyone? #2
Brrrr! 16 below zero with a 25 below wind chill and schools are all starting late. What better reason to "continue" to think about spring and view a few more warm weather spots.
And last but not least, a beautiful gate to what promises to be a lovely home.
Think Spring!

I dont know about you but I'm starting to think about spring. I know, it's only Jan., but what better time to dream about green grass, sunny skies and warm breezes. I think looking at all these lovely outside area's in Southern Living magazine helped bring out the desire . Do you agree?
